What is a Consultation?
You will find that I am always inviting you to consider scheduling a consultation. The consultation is an opportunity for me to understand your goals and desires and to offer you a plan to achieve them while taking into account your lifestyle, health, tolerance and my ability to get you what you are looking for. There really is no substitute for the consultation but think of it as just a meeting where two people honestly evaluate their ability to work together to achieve a common goal.
The consultation starts with a discussion, medical history and photos leading to the development of an action plan.Once you are ready to proceed, my staff will assist in scheduling, preparations for the time period around your treatment(s) and financing if needed. We are here to make it possible for you to reach your goals and we don’t want to let financial concerns keep us from achieving them.
If you are not quite ready to make a consultation then you may wish to consider attending one of our in-office seminars. These are typically held every two weeks on Tuesday from 6-7:30 PM. Our website has a schedule and you can reserve a seat either via the web or by calling our office.
What recovery time will be required?
Obviously, the answer to this question is varied based on the individual and the procedures that are performed. For some general guidelines, I typically recommend between 7-14 days with an average of 10 days for the acute recovery phase following a Facelift or Active Lift. Endoscopic browplasty and/or eyelid surgery typically requires 5-7 days. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing requires 5-7 days where you won’t want to be in public. After that, it is possible to put on makeup and go about your normal routine. If we use the fractional CO2 laser on just the lower eyelids typically you can return to your normal routine with covering makeup at 3 days.
After the acute phase of recovery there is a period where numbness and/or some hardness can be present. This phase of healing can take a few months but is not something that people notice; rather it just takes a while for everything to return to your perfect normal state.
In order to enhance your recovery and your experience, all Facelift or Active Lift patients receive a session with our aesthetician, Elise Adelman, as a part of our perioperative package. During this session, Elise will perform bimanual as well as ultrasonic massage. She will also instruct you on how to do some of the same at home and will suggest ways to keep you fresh and healthy for a longer period of time. We also provide a preoperative package which includes most of the supplies you will require in the perioperative period. These added benefits are not provided by all cosmetic surgeons and we have had very positive feedback about them from all of our patients.
How much does cosmetic surgery cost?
I think this is a very reasonable question to ask especially during times like these. I have reduced my prices substantially over the past four years in order to make facial cosmetic procedures more affordable. The ability to perform most procedures in the office setting has been very helpful by eliminating operating room and anesthesia charges. For prices of our most common procedures please feel free to call my office. If you have a written estimate from another physician or facility we would be glad to see if we can match or beat it.
Is Financing Available?
Yes, we have financing available at good terms through Care Credit.
How long do the results last?
For most surgical procedures, you will always look better for having done them. Typically we see patients for revision facelifts at 10 years but it is helpful to maintain your general health, a steady weight and take good care of your skin.
Botox® and Dysport® last for 4-6 months while Perlane® and Juvederm® typically last for 9-12 months.
Sculptra® results remain at 85% two years after treatment and 65% 5 years after treatment. I find that our patients typically come in for one or two treatments to maintain their volume at the 2 ½ year mark.
The fractional CO2 laser changes the physiology of the skin and this is a long term effect. I have seen some patients for additional skin treatments (not necessary repeat of the CO2 laser treatment) at 7-10 years.
